Reading instruction strategies for early childhood education students
Abstract
This research analyzed teaching strategies for reading with children in early childhood education. Methodologically, it was conducted using a qualitative approach, specifically a documentary study, employing systematic review and content analysis as techniques, and using both data collection forms and analysis matrices as instruments. Articles were selected in accordance with the PRISMA statement and identified in the Scopus, Scielo, and Web of Science databases. Among the findings, the reviewed studies showed positive outcomes for those who have applied various reading strategies, which have fostered the development of critical thinking skills in learners and their comprehension of diverse texts. It was therefore concluded that reading habits have optimally contributed to the development of communicative competence in early childhood education.
